Federal government on Monday, increased K-Electric’s (KE) tariff from Rs 1.09 to Rs 2.89 per unit.
According to the notification issued by Power Division, the tariff for K-Electric – Karachi’s sole electric supply company has been increased from Rs 1.09 to Rs 2.89.
The tariff increase will be applicable from September 1st and will be adjusted in utility bills accordingly.
The development comes as earlier, Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) had approved the tariff increase for K-Electric along with a subsidy of Rs 4.7 billion on account of tariff differential
Prior to this, National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) on October 8th, approved an increase of Rs 0.83 per unit in power tariff citing increase in fuel prices.
Meanwhile, NEPRA on September 24, NEPRA had approved an increase of Rs1.6 per unit under the quarterly adjustments for the 2nd and 3rd quarters of 2019-20.
