Vice Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi on Wednesday, has been appointed as the new Chief of Naval Staff (CNS) of Pakistan Navy.
President of Pakistan Arif Alvi has approved the appointment of Vice Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi as the new Chief of Naval Staff of Pakistan Navy, promoting the latter to the rank of Admiral.
Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi will succeed over the outgoing Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi who will hand over the command to the former in a change of command ceremony scheduled to be held at PNS ZAFAR, Islamabad on October 7th.
It is pertinent to know that Vice Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi has previously on various senior posts and has commanded two Type-21 ships PNS BADR and PNS TARIQ, He has also served as Commander 18th Destroyer Squadron and Commandant PNS BAHADUR.
Vice Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi is a graduate of Army Command & Staff College Quetta and National Defence University Islamabad, and is currently serving as Commander Pakistan Fleet.
He has been awarded with the French Medal Chevalier (Knight) by the Government of France and has also been conferred with Hilal e Imtiaz (Military) and Sitara e Basalat.
Furthermore, the newly appointed Chief of Naval Staff has also served as Commandant Pakistan Navy War College/ Commander Central Punjab Lahore.
In addition to it, Vice Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi’s service history include Principal Secretary to Chief of the Naval Staff, Head of F-22P Mission China, Deputy Chief of Naval Staff (Training & Evaluation) and Director General Naval Intelligence.
