The Pakistan Army leadership has strongly denied association with politics and any political activity, matters.
According to details, military leadership Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa and Director-General of Inter-Services Intelligence (DG ISI) Lieutenant General Faiz Hameed categorically denied military’s direct or indirect role in politics.
The Pakistan Army is not associated with any political activity in any way, reiterated the military leadership.
The military leadership reiterated its apolitical nature during meeting with parliamentary leaders last week over administrative affairs of Gilgit-Baltistan.
During the meeting, the army top command stressed upon its continued support for the civil administration, however the military has no role in electoral reforms, and the accountability process, said the military command.
