An Accountability Court in Sukkur indict Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Khursheed Shah in assets beyond means case on Monday (today).
Judge Farid Anwar Qazi heard the assets beyond means case against the former National Assembly (NA) opposition leader and read the indictment verdict against the accused.
During the hearing, the court indicted another 16 accused in the case for being involved in financial embezzlement and having assets beyond means.
The court then adjourned the case till September 8th upon NAB’s request.
It is pertinent to know that National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has accused Khursheed Shah of spending more than Rs710 million from 2005 till 2019. Furthermore, Khursheed Shah and his family have failed to provide legal money trail of $84,000 and Rs370 million present in their bank accounts.
NAB has yet presented 14 volumes of evidence against Syed Khursheed Shah, his two wives and 18 others accomplices nominated in the reference of Rs1.23 billion assets beyond means case.
Prior to this, Khursheed Shah had secured bail from accountability court back in December 2019 on the orders of Sindh High Court (SHC) after the anti-graft watchdog failed to file a reference against him.
