More than 100,000 tourists are reported to have visited various tourist spots in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) in the last five days.
A large number of people have flocked to various tourist spots in KP after the coronavirus lockdown restrictions were lifted with the approval of National Command and Operations Center (NCOC).
As per the statistics gathered by KP Tourism Department, around 105,207 people visited various tourist spots in KP in just last five days.
Abbottabad witnessed the highest number of tourists with around 80,650 visitors, followed by Swat.
Meanwhile, Chitral and Dir hosted 800, 364 tourists respectively.
The development comes as KP government allowed the reopening of tourist spots from August 8 earlier this month.
The reopening of tourist destinations after around five months, has resulted in significantly large number of people of people heading tobottabad, Swat, Murree, Nathia Gali, Naran, Kaghan and various other famous tourist destinations of the northern areas.
However, government has issued strict COVID-19 guidelines and SOPs for hotels, restaurants to curb the virus spread and ensure public safety amid pandemic.
