K-Electric Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Moonis Alvi secured pre-arrest bail from a district and session court in an electrocution death case on Monday(today).
A district and sessions court on Monday, granted pre-arrest bail to K-Electric CEO Moonis Alvi in a case pertaining to an electrocution death during recent monsoon spell in Karachi.
The court had directed police to not arrest Moonis Alvi till August 25th, further directed Mr Alvi to fully cooperate in the police investigation.
The development comes as earlier; a 22-year old had died in Karachi’s DHA PhaseVII area by electrocution during recent rain spell in Karachi.
An FIR was lodged by the deceased’s uncle at Defense Police Station, and had held four people responsible for the Faizan’s death, including K-Electric CEO Moonis Alvi.
Faizan’s uncle has contended that a K-Electric sub-station was left without a door, and that the 22-year old died due to K-Electric’s negligence.
It is to be noted that earlier Supreme Court of Pakistan (SC) on August 11, had directed for a complete audit of K-Electric and eprimanded Moonis Alvi – CEO K-Electric over electrocution deaths in Karachi during recent rain spells.
The court had warned that in case of electrocution deaths, legal action will be taken against the electricity providing company and its administration.
