Pakistani who were stranded in India following the closure of borders on account of coronavirus emergency left for Pakistan on Thursday via Wagah-Attari crossing.
Pakistani came to India for medical purposes and pilgrimage before the closure of borders. They were mainly struck in New Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and Punjab.
“The High Commission closely followed up and coordinated with the Indian side as well as the relevant stakeholders in Islamabad for early repatriation of the Pakistanis,” a spokesperson in the Pakistan High Commission said.
However, citizens were quarantined in different cities and screened at Attari before being permitted to cross the Wagah border.
Most of them have been moved to the Jinnah medical clinic in Lahore, where they will be tested for coronavirus.
