14 doctors are reported to have tested positive for COVID-19 coronavirus at Faisalabad’s Allied Hospital on Thursday.
As per the details all the doctors who have been affected by the novel virus were serving at the gynecology ward of the hospital. According to sources two family members of the affected doctors had recently died due to COVID-19 coronavirus.
Dr umer of Allied Hospital has stated that the patients are ignoring the SOPs and healthcare guidelines and are not taking any preventive and precautionary measures which is threatening the lives of healthcare workers in hospitals, hinting that the gynecology ward may be temporarily shut down for disinfection purposes.
Meanwhile, 15 staff members of the hospital have been instructed to self-isolate after registering symptoms of the novel virus.
Punjab has reported a total of 22,037 confirmed coronavirus cases, with 6,326 recoveries and 381 deaths so far.
