Islamabad: The Pakistan International Airline (PIA) has flown back 136 Pakistanis via a special flight, who were stranded in Iraq due to travel restrictions amid COVID-19 outbreak.
PIA’s special flight PK-9814, landed on Islamabad airport after taking off from Baghdad airport with 136 Pakistani passengers.
Upon arrival, the passengers were screened for COVID-19 symptoms and one passenger has been transferred to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences PIMS on accounts of having high fever.
As precautionary measures, the flight crew and passengers including disabled persons, women and children have been put under quarantine in a local hotel.
PIA has been operating special flights to various countries to rescue stranded Pakistanis as flight operations have been suspended across the world due to coronavirus outbreak.
