Around 100 Pakistanis who recently returned from Abu Dhabi have been diagnosed with COVID-19 coronavirus on Monday.
According to details, around 200 stranded Pakistanis returned from Abu Dhabi via flight No- EY-321 and landed at Islamabad airport on April 28.
Upon arrival, all the passengers were screened and transferred to a quarantine facility in accordance with the SOPs issued for repatriated Pakistanis by the government.
All the passengers were tested for COVID-19, of which 100 people were diagnosed with the novel coronavirus.
It is pertinent to know that Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), on the directions of federal government, has been operating special flights to repatriate stranded Pakistanis in various countries abroad.
US authorities have issued special permit to PIA, which is scheduled to operate 12 special flights to and from the United States to bring back Pakistani nationals who have been stuck due to coronavirus travel restrictions.
The total number of COVID-19 cases in Pakistan currently stand at 20,168 with 462 casualties.
